1. Do I need administrative rights to install Kabisa V?
Kabisa V does not require an administrative account to run. The installation can be performed without administrative rights; however, the shortcut and start menu icons will be located in the user account that performed the installation instead of the All User account.
Make sure that you have modify, read and write permissions for the “Kabisa V” folder and files on the “C:” drive. If you are using Kabisa in a controlled computer environment (school, university, computer classroom, government institution, etc.), contact your administrator if you are not sure.
2. I’m receiving several error messages when I run Kabisa V. Why is this happening?
There are two main reasons why this could be happening:
- Kabisa is not installed in “C:\Kabisa V”. If you installed it anywhere else, it won’t run properly. This is because some references in Kabisa V are hard coded and expect files to be located there.
- You may not have sufficient permissions for the Kabisa V folders and files. Right click on the Kabisa V folder and select ‘Properties’. Make sure that under the ‘Security’ tab there is a checkmark for ‘Modify’, ‘Read’ and ‘Write’.
3. I have some other question about Kabisa that is not listed here. Where can I get help?
4. Can I install Kabisa V on Mac?
There are two ways to use windows-based programs on Mac:
- Programs like Parallels and Vmware allow you to use part of your disk for windows programs. Install Windows XP within the Parallels partition and subsequently Kabisa V on Windows XP. Both programs are priced at (alas) approximately 80 euro, without Windows XP.
- As Mac user you can download for free the program Bootcamp from the Mac site. It reserves part of your disk for other operating systems. While starting up with the Alt key pressed you can choose Mac or the reserved part of your disk. Within this part of your disk you can install windows XP and later Kabisa.
5. When I click the download kabisa now button, there is no ‘run’ or ‘open’ option, I can only ‘save’. What should I do?
Click ‘save’ and store the file on your computer, then double click the file manually. There are several reasons why the ‘run’ option is missing, this depends on which operating system you have and/or on the browser that you are using. You can safely ignore this issue as it has no impact on Kabisa.
